Terms

“Client” refers to the person making the booking.

“DJ” refers to DJ MoSonic

Booking & Payment

A booking is only confirmed upon receipt of the Non-Refundable Booking Fee of 25% of the Total Fee and the signed Entertainment Agreement. The DJ cannot hold a date or agree to an event without the Non-Refundable Booking Fee and signed Entertainment Agreement. This fee secures the Event and covers initial administrative and preparatory work by the DJ. The Non-Refundable Booking Fee will be deducted from the Total Fee, leaving the remaining balance to be paid as per these terms.

The DJ will proivde the client with an electronic invoice for the balance which must be paid in full before the DJ sets up his equipment at the venue. The electronic invoice allows a variety of payment menthods. Failure to pay the balance by this time may result in the cancellation of the booking, with the Non-Refundable Booking Fee forfeited. Payment in cash on the date of the Event must be pre-agreed with the DJ.

DJ Requirements

The DJ requires adequate access to the venue before and after the Event to allow for the setup and breakdown of equipment. A minimum of 60 minutes (preferably 90 minutes) should be allowed for setting up, and 60 minutes for packing up and vacating the premises. The Client should notify the DJ of any access restrictions or limitations in advance.

The DJ requires a minimum approximate space of 4 metres wide by 2.5 metres deep for the DJ setup. While the DJ will work with any space constraints, the Client must notify the DJ of any such constraints in advance. Failure to meet these requirements without prior notice may result in a modified service or cancellation without refund.

The Client is responsible for providing a safe, suitable, and properly earthed electricity supply. The DJ requires two 13 A mains sockets (within 5 metres of the setup area). If at any point the DJ deems the electricity supply unsafe, the DJ reserves the right to delay, suspend, or terminate the performance until the issue is resolved. If the problem cannot be rectified, the DJ may cancel the Event without refund.

The Client warrants that they have the necessary permissions to use the venue for the Event and that the Event does not violate any law, by-law, or venue restrictions. The Client is responsible for obtaining all necessary licences (e.g., PRS music licence) required for the Event. The Client agrees to indemnify the DJ against any fines, penalties, or costs that arise from failure to secure such licences.

If the Event is held in a marquee or external venue, the Client must ensure that the working area is dry, weather-protected, properly floored, and that a minimum of two 13A voltage-regulated and earthed electricity supplies are close to the setup area. The DJ cannot operate from generator supplies unless agreed in advance.

Changes to contracted playing time

Client requests for extended playing time are at the DJ’s discretion and subject to availability. The DJ will make reasonable efforts to accommodate such requests. Any extensions are subject to an additional overtime rate per hour after the agreed playing time.

If the Client requests early termination of the entertainment, no refunds will be provided. Additionally, if the performance is terminated due to safety concerns or non-compliance with these terms, no refund will be issued.

Music selection

The DJ will do his best to accommodate music requests made by the Client providing they are in keeping with the event, are available to the DJ and will not be detrimental to the atmosphere of the event.

The DJ will consider requests from guests but will only play them if they are in keeping with the wishes of the Client and will not be detrimental to the atmosphere of the event.

The DJ reserves the right to not play any music which he considers will be detrimental to the event with no liability to the event fee.

Audience conduct

The Client is responsible for providing and maintaining adequate supervision over guests at all times. Any damage, loss, or theft caused by the Client, guests, venue staff, or other attendees to the DJ’s equipment, vehicles, or personal belongings is the responsibility of the Client. The Client agrees to pay for any damage within 30 days of receiving notification from the DJ of the assessed damage costs.

If at any time before or during the Event, the DJ deems their staff or property to be under threat, either verbally or physically, the DJ reserves the right to suspend or terminate services immediately without refund. The Client will be informed of the situation as soon as possible. If the issue remains unresolved, the DJ may cancel the performance without further notice or liability.

If minors (under 16 years of age) are present at the Event, the Client or parent/guardian is responsible for their behaviour and safety.

Non Attendance

On payment of the Non-Refundable Deposit and completion of the Entertainment Agreement, the DJ commits to attend the Event. In the unlikely event that the DJ cannot attend due to unforeseen circumstances such as illness or accident, the DJ will endeavour to provide a suitable substitute DJ of comparable quality and experience at no additional cost to the Client. If a substitute cannot be found, the Client will receive a full refund of all monies paid to the DJ for that Event, with no further liability attributed to the DJ.

The DJ will not be liable for non-attendance or late arrival caused by events beyond his reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, road closures, accidents, acts of terrorism, fuel shortages, industrial action, government restrictions, or other force majeure events.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made by the Client more than 14 calendar days before the Event will result in the forfeiture of the Non-Refundable Booking Fee, but no further fees will be charged.

Cancellations made fewer than 14 calendar days before the Event will require the Client to pay the remaining balance of the Total Fee in full within 10 working days of cancellation, regardless of the reason for cancellation.

Photography/Videography/Media

The DJ reserves the right to capture photographs, video, audio, or other media documentation of the Event for his own marketing purposes. The DJ will not capture media of any minors present. The Client expressly consents to such use. If the Client wishes to opt out of any media documentation, they may do so in writing or via email before the Event.

By attending the Event, all persons grant the DJ the right to use any photographs or recordings for marketing, promotional, or advertising purposes. The Client agrees to indemnify the DJ against any claims for libel or invasion of privacy arising from such use, provided the Client has not opted out prior to the Event.

The DJ complies with all relevant data protection laws, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). No media featuring personal data will be shared with third parties without consent.

Limitations of liability

The DJ’s liability for any claim, loss, or damage arising from or in connection with this contract shall not exceed the amount paid by the Client under this contract. The DJ shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses.

Insurance

The DJ carries public liability insurance with coverage of up to £10 million. However, this insurance does not cover any damage caused by guests, venue staff, or third-party negligence. The Client agrees to be responsible for any claims arising from such third-party actions. The DJ’s electrical equipment is fully PAT tested.
